Indigenous Pre Recruitment Course
The Indigenous Pre Recruitment Course (IPRC) gives participants the opportunity to explore over 200 career options that are available to all Australians in our Navy, Army and Air Force. During this 8 week course participants will have the chance to prepare themselves for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) ingression test by expanding their academic plane and physical aptitude. Participants can expect their self-confidence to grow as they:
- Develop a good understanding of the Defence Force recruiting processes,
- Polish their literacy and numeracy skills,
- Experience success in the leadership and communication activities, and
- Make personal progress on the physical fitness program.
Inspire Community Services is proud to be a part of the partnership between the Department of Defence, the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), TAFE and a number of local Aboriginal Land Councils.
The IPRC program is an excellent example of the government's agenda to close the employment gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. Indigenous Australians have made a significant contribution to the defense of Australia and it is our hope that the IPRC programs will ensure that this proud history continues.
