On Tuesday the 21st of September the Grandma’s Group ventured out on their picnic day.
Well, what a day! We started out to go to the WetherillPark but the council decided they were renovating the park till next May, but that didn’t dampen our spirits. So off we went to Chipping Norton lakes and found a perfect spot with all the amenities tables, seats & bathroom close by.
Thanks to our wonder chef David, he got the BBQ rolling then the women joined in and shared the responsibility of cooking. Their hard work was rewarded with a beautiful of cooking. Their hard work was rewarded with a beautiful BBQ lunch with salad & munchies.
Not only did we have a great lunch, but we were also serenaded by the one and only David, who did not only know how to cook but can also play the guitar & sing a neat tune.
When we thought we had lost Doreen, there she was in her bathing attire and a beach towel spread out getting a sun tan. And our lovely queen who had her own special chair and said she felt like a queen with all her disciples around her.
At the end of our day all the ladies were given a small token gift and Doreen won the main prize. So then it was time to venture back after a roll call (just to make sure no one took off).
A special thanks to Cath and David for everything you do for the grandma’s. Above all, thankyou ladies! Without your attendance, the day would not have been such a success.
Looking forward to seeing you in 2001! Joanne Perry.
